349-off the bubble

hoosiers win! they got to be off the bubble. i mean, they're ahead of mich state and state is ranked #23. is it too late to get a recruiting class for next year? according to dave, i make a great recruiter, having signed to guys to our softball team last night (evans and livermore). can't wait to see how they fit into a ducksnort uniform.

350-hockey night

tonight was dave anderson's annual hockey outing. we started at billy goat's for cheezborgers and beer and then headed to the united center. before we could even hit our seats it was 1-0 hawks. they went on to a 3-0 lead before blowing it in the 3rd and losing it in a shootout 5-4 (1-0). the one saving grace was that the hawks scored with under one minute left in the second period earning us all free big macs. we then headed over to kerryman to throw back a few more. in order to make it to work, livermore and i decided to leave at midnight and go cash in our our free big macs. after that it was home to crash. a word of advice if you ever go to the kerryman: make sure to check out all the levels, there's a 1st floor, 2nd floor and somehow they fit a floor in between. kind of confusing, turns out missy was there the whole time i was and i didn't even know until she came home.
351 - it's finally here!

baseball season, that is...the cubs had their first spring training game of the year. murton scored a run and cedeno scored one and drove in one. these two guys will be the key to the cubs season.
352- patronage

good story in the sun-times today. so daley supports stroger, but praises claypool? what exactly does this mean? it means daley's brother is the finance chair under stroger, and if claypool wins he won't have that job anymore and the daleys won't control all the money in cook county anymore. hmmmm... tourney watch. purdue gives a small scare but the hoosiers pull out the victory. a win over michigan and they should get in, right?
353-

nothing new to report, but did get my power supply. so, getting closer. the only problm building your own computer is that you have to get all your parts before anything will work.

354- heart attack

damn, i am getting old! missy is gone this weekend and with all that extra bed space i ended up sleeping in a weird position. i pulled a muscle in my back and i can't even exhale without pain. it only got worse throughout the day, and spread throughout my whole chest to the point i thought i was having a heart attach. so i left work early and am taking some tylenol PM to kill the pain. i am getting soft!
355-what? tournament watch?

i walked by the breakroom today and heard an announcer saying "the fans here at indiana are on there feet" and something about "davis". i figured it was an old pacers game on espn classic and that they were referring to dale and/or antonio davis. then i realized that it was actually the weekend, and that my hoosiers were putting a beat down on the spartans....i need a break! i admit i have put the hoosiers to bed for the year, but if they can beat purdue and michigan to end the year, we just may make the tourney.

356-power supply

putting in a lot of hours at the office means treating yourself to something every once in a while. today, i got my fix in the form of a new power supply for my current project of custom building a computer. maybe a little flashy, but it will look nice in my new case. when finished, i'll post all the specs.

357 - cubs tickets on sale

cubs tickets went on sale today and the day started off bad. i went in to work early then went home for "lunch" around 10 to start trying to get tickets. no dice. then i got back to work and for some reason our internet was down. i almost lost it. if i didn't get tickets i would die. luckily, i have access to our internet server. i was able to connect from there and ended up getting tickets for a game in every month. anyone interested in sitting in the new bleachers this year?
358- disaster looms

nothing special to report, but i will use this space to predict a small disaster in the march primary. it seems like the people in charge here have no clue what is going on and that can only mean bad thing!
359- family night

ok, i have to admit that wednesday is family night. the family consisting of me, missy, and our dog, chance. some guys may say this makes me whipped, but as far as date nights...i think i get off pretty easy on this one. especially, since i get to watch mythbusters!
360-4 weeks until the election

today, i started my 4 weeks of hell. work will be all i have to talk about for a while. i'm getting in at 7am and not leaving until 10pm. this is a real bummer since today is b-ball day. jones, ellis and i all play at holstein park every tuesday and thursday at 6:30. it's a good time. i'm sure jones will miss me since i am the only one he can score on. if anyone wants to take my place, please do so

361-President's Day

today, i got to sleep in since i have the day off. i had to enjoy it since i know this is the last time i can do that until after the election. after this it will be 12 hour days, 7 days until march 21st. as a reminder this is the last day to register for the primary election in illinois. if you are not registered...DON'T WORRY!...there is still grace period voting for the next two weeks where you can register to vote and then vote at the same time.
