308- andy's last day
i was tempted to ride my bike today (i love saving that $1.75 each way), but i remembered it was andy's last day. andy worked for us during the election on a contract. that's kind of like a consultant except you work for us. most of these contract hires are pretty much worthless, but andy actually helped us out a lot. i hope they hire him back. we went to stocks & blondes after work to vent frustration and say goodbye (hopefully, not for long). we had a few pitchers and a few beers but i got out of there kind of early. it's not a good idea to let work people see you drunk...trust me. if you work in downtown chicago, i recommend the fish on friday at stocks & blondes.
309-spring is here
i finally broke out my bike tonight now that the warm weather is finally here. i put some air in the tires and took off down the lakefront path. i only made it up to lawrence ave and back, but it felt good to get out to the lake again. the thing about chicago is the people never let a nice day get away. it was about 9 o'clock at night and there were people out everywhere eating, running, playing tennis etc. too bad our summers are so short.
310-fantasy update
not much to report so let's give a quick update on my fantasy teams:
- summer catch league - the sarge - 5-5-0 (tied for 5th)
- suspect league baseball - arbitration eligible - 138.5 (2nd place)
- beat mok bernok - mok bernok - 84.5 (1st place)
311-cubs hooky
today was the day at work where we had to have our results sent to state. my responsibility was to make sure they got up on the web. problem is i had a ticket for the cubs game.... sometimes i like to buy single tickets for what i can baseball therapy, you know, instead of getting drunk with your friends actually watch baseball and talk to random people.... anyway, i made a deal that if i got my stuff done i could go. i left at 1pm for a 1:20 game and by the time i got there it was already 3-0 in the third inning. not exactly what i had planned. oh well, better than being in the office. at least i did meet a 'random' person. some unemployed lady that had been to every game so far. she pretty much knew her stuff, but i had to listen to her tear-jerker story about how derek lee signed a photo for her sister's special ed student. i like my story better where he got me thown out of a bar - but i digress.
also, look for my cubs blog coming soon. that way i don't have to bore you all with baseball stuff all the time.

312-google pages
sweet-google allows people to create their own webpages. not sure what i'll do with it yet, but if they allow you to upload files...i've got some ideas. i'll post the link once i get it working.
313-barrett's slam

most of the day was a waste spent recupperating since sarah and tony and i decided to meet ellis out for his birthday celebration at the kerryman. (kerryman again? i know.) but conlu broke me out of it with tickets to the sunday night espn game. it couldn't have been better than sweeping the cardinals on national tv with a grand slam by barrett. however, being the baseball geek that i am, the best part for me was seeing cedeno going 1st to 3rd on a single. it's about time we have someone who can run the bases!
314a-big horse

the bernacchi clan was in full effect tonight. my cousins amy, her husband doug, tony and sarah came up to watch a friends band. they came over and hung out for a while then we headed over to the big horse for the show. it was a good time. you could tell they were family b/c it was like we were all on the same wave-length (or we all just act the same when drinking). although the night was pretty blurry i will recommend the big horse if for nothing else there is a burrito place actually in the bar. i don't think you can beat that!
314-ikea
today, is our trip to the groomers in the suburbs. the dog gets a haircut and missy and i hit wal-mart, etc for our cheap household goods. today, on our agenda was a trip to ikea. normally, i hate this place, but with my new computer i need somewhere to put it. well, if you want cheap, ikea is the place and we happened to be in the neighborhood. we took the suburban streets to ikea and it took us 45 minutes to go ten miles. so, i wonder what is the point of living in the suburbs if you still have to deal with city traffic? anyway we decide to go out of our way and take the interstates back thinking less traffic and higher speed will make up the difference--not if you get on the wrong highway!!! we were all the way to oak park before we figured out our mistake. needless, to say they were waiting for to close and poor little chancey had to pay the price. he looked like they were taking a chunk out of his fur for every minute we were late. next time, we stay away from ikea.
315-a little rattled
i was right something was wrong with me last night. i woke up today and it was already 9:30. oops! i guess was a little late for work, but not sure if anyone noticed (not sure if that is a good or a bad thing). hopefully, they just thought i was working out at the warehouse. ellis dropped of xp tonight, so i will be a loser and finally get my computer set up.
316- last day for b-ball
the b-ball session ended tonight. i didn't quite feel right and headed home early. my body just didn't feel like it was moving when my brain was telling it to. now, my main concern is where will i get my exercise. this has been it the whole winter. luckily, softball season starts in early may.
